Honku Valley
This valley is the backyard of Everest. The
climax of the Honku Valley trek is its remote glaciers and a
formidable pass which require tough muscle. The journey is strenuous
enough to merit the adjective "off beaten track" in
the truest sense. Few villages are seen and there is no definite
track to follow. You need to be in good physical condition and
know the elementary of climbing experiences of Himalaya. Mera
peak(6476m.) climbing is an additional experience in this trek

The legend says while a lama following the run away Yak had found
this beautiful valley. "Lang" means Yak (Dhang) Tang means
to follow. Inhabitants are mostly Tamangs, very much similar to Tibetan
in their costume and culture. They are more akin to Tibetans than
their cousins in the mid hills of Nepal. Though there is no flights,
the region is easily accessible from Kathmandu to its proximity. Within
short days you are closer to the snowcapped mountains, glaciers and

Mustang
Mustang is remote Himalayan principality on the
boarder of Nepal and Tibet. It has long been considered lost
and forbidden" kingdom lying behind Annapurna and Dhaulagiri
massif.
It is barren and dry region, a miniature Tibet. It was one of the
important trade route to Tibet and India and a passage to Mt. Kailash.
The landscape, the Gompa, monasteries, and palace of Mustang Raja
is still intact. A handful of scholars and explorers were permitted
to visit the region in the past. In October 1991 Nepal government
opened its doors.

This region stretches from Kali Gandaki in the

like a folding crepe, protrucing on the south are the peaks of Dhaulagiri
(8167m.). Around Dhaulagiri trek is long an arduous trek. Enroute
you encounter simple lifestyle and magnificent scenery of Nepal. The
route is less frequented by the trekkers due to its challenging two
passes, French Pass (5430m.) and Thapa Pass (5365m.).

Dolpo
Dolpo is isolated by Dhaulagiri massif from the
rest of the kingdom. This isolation has created the land with its
own distinct character which is clearly reflected in the social and
cultural life of the people. The topographical formation has given
this area somewhat the identity of Tibet. The migrant Hindus have
settled and adapted themselves to the highland culture and traditions.
They have perfectly merged themselves to the Buddhist culture. Trek
days vary depending on the choice to go further towards Phoksundo
Lake.
